Craft & Voice

A Unique Approach to Storytelling

Storytelling is often reduced to mere narration. In such cases, the story is filtered through the writer's own authoritative voice, which can leave characters one-dimensional and limited. A compelling story requires multiple voices — and a solid structure. You need to understand not only what you want to tell, but also why — and feel.

Craft & Voice is a screenwriting method born from the recognition that a more integrated and immersive approach is needed. It enables writers to tackle creative challenges and allows the story to develop organically — from the inside out.

In our workshops, we explore stories through both dramaturgical analysis and emotional immersion. Rather than observing a character's actions from a distance, participants enter the character's inner reality, shifting perspectives and experiencing the story through multiple viewpoints. By stepping inside the characters and identifying with them, writers create emotional resonance that carries through to the audience. If the writer feels it, the audience will too.

How do we work?

Our method blends classical and alternative dramaturgy with psychological and creative tools. We employ a variety of techniques inspired by psychodrama, Ira Progoff's Journal Method, symbol drama, character interviews, and diverse writing exercises. These tools help deepen theme, conflict, and dialogue, while focusing on key scenes — the pivotal moments and turning points. Simultaneously, we conduct thorough dramaturgical analysis to strengthen both the story's structure and its emotional core.

The Craft & Voice approach helps writers gain a profound understanding of their story, uncovering its emotional core and dramatic heartbeat. Screenplays are examined from multiple angles, including detailed exploration of characters' personalities and relationships. The method also supports writers in finding their own voice, reshaping their connection to the text, and freeing creative flow — for instance, by working through writer's block.
